This box is designed for those generators that use two separate signal wires, one to start and one to stop.

This box acts as the connecting interface between a Victron device and an onboard generator. Either Victron device acts as the brain and keeps track of the state of charge or system load. When the specified conditions are met, the Victron device sends a start or stop signal to the generator. However, natively, the generator doesn’t understand this signal from the Victron device. The auto generator start box takes the signal from the Victron device and, using a set of four adjustable relays converts the signal into a signal which the generator recognizes, enabling it to start and stop.

By default this auto generator start box comes setup to send a negative signal to the generator. Optionally, you can purchase this box where it is configured to send a positive signal. Typically I have found that in the RV environment the Onan and NPS generators will use a 2 wire negative signal for the remote start/stop operation. However, in the marine environment is where you might have a generator that use a 2 wire positive signal.

Requirements:
– Victron Cerbo GX with SmartShunt or BMV-712
– Generator with a 2 wire negative or positive signal for remote start/stop

Compatibility:
– Negative Signal works with 12v, 24v, and 48v system voltages
– Positive Signal is dependent on the voltage the generator is expecting for the remote signal, typically 12vdc only
