Faithful Journey Solar Solutions offers two different levels of service for solar systems:

1: Consult, Design, and Install ~ with this all-inclusive service, I first work with you to identify your off-grid goals and design a unique solar system tailored to your RV and needs. Finally, I schedule a time to install the solar system on your RV and educate you on how it operates.

2: Consulting ~ If you are interested in installing your solar system but unsure where to start and what components to use, I can help. I work with you to identify your off-grid goals and design a unique solar system tailored to your RV and needs. I can then provide wiring diagrams, including fuse and wire sizing guidance. I can include a quote for recommended products so you can build a safe and reliable system.

All systems I design include Victron remote monitoring and support capabilities. With these capabilities, I have the ability to connect remotely for a system health check-up, troubleshoot problems, and offer configuration assistance.

Regardless of where you are in your solar build, I can help you with the design, identifying components, sizing components, installation assistance, configuration of software, and remote support.

Auto Generator Start

At Faithful Journey Solar Solutions, an auto generator start box was developed to fill a void in the mobile RV solar system market. Many RVs, especially a motorhome or toy hauler 5th wheel, are equipped with an onboard generator. When a solar system is added to the RV, often the generator isn’t integrated into the system. Huge benefits can be realized by the end user by integrating the generator into the solar system, such as:

  • Automatically start/ stop the generator based on the battery state of charge or overall system load.
  • Automatic periodic testing of the generator to keep it in a ready-to-run state.
  • Lower initial overall system cost by being able to purchase less battery and then expand battery bank as needed or as budget allows.

This box acts as the connecting interface between a Victron device and the onboard generator. Either Victron device acts as the brain and keeps track of the state of charge or system load. When the specified conditions are met, the Victron device sends a start or stop signal to the generator. However, natively, the generator doesn’t understand this signal from the Victron device. The FJRV Generator Auto Start/Stop box takes the signal from the Victron device and, using a set of four adjustable relays translates the signal to where the generator understands the command.

Installation of the Auto Generator Start box into your RV is straightforward, as only seven labeled wires need to be connected to your system. The four relays come preset but can be adjusted depending on your generator.

The Auto Generator Start box has been tested with Onan and NPS generators.

Do you complete the installs onsite or are do you offer mobile installation?

Depending on the size of your RV, we can do the solar installation onsite at our location.

Otherwise, we can come to you and install the solar system on your RV where you are.

Am I able to stay in my RV during the installation process?

If the solar system is being installed on your RV onsite at our location, unfortunately, you won’t be able to stay in your RV during the installation process.

However, if I come to you, you may be able to continue to stay in your RV, but let’s talk about it.

What is the process for getting solar installed?

Firstly, complete the inquiry form on our website or give me a call and let’s talk.

Next, we contact you to determine your needs and goals for a system.

Next, we collect a deposit and start designing your custom solar system.

Then we schedule a date for your installation, and the deposit for parts is collected.

We then install the solar system on your RV, and you are kept in the loop during the process.

Upon completion, a walk-through is done to show you how to operate and use the new solar system.

Lastly, the remaining balance is due before you head out to enjoy your newfound freedom.

Can you install other RV accessories?

Other accessories can be installed, so let us know when we call what you need installed.

Are you able to install a solar system on structures?

Yes, we can assist with getting solar installed on off-grid tiny homes and sheds.

However, we do not install on any grid-tied structures due to insurance, liability, and permitting.

I am interested in a solar system for my RV, where do I start?

Firstly, contact me as I can help! All of the solar systems I design, and build are custom tailored to my client’s needs and goals. I work with you to figure out the best system for you.

Is it possible to run an air conditioner or two off a solar system installation?

Yes, it definitely is possible to run an air conditioner or multiple units off a solar system. An RV rooftop AC unit requires a lot of power, so the solar system needs to be designed properly to handle the load.

How big of a battery bank do I need for my solar system?

This is a very good question and depends on what you want to run and how long you want to run those items. This is something that I work with you to figure out during the design phase of your system.
